Rockies Game and a New Hat

For Father's Day, Carter and I got Scott tickets to a Rockies game. The tickets were for seats right behind first base. The day of the game, it was a hot one. It was 90+ degrees when we got there and our seats were right in the sun. Carter got doused in sunblock. Also, because it was so sunny and we still needed to get a new hat for Carter, we headed to the team store to see what we could find. As you can see from the pictures, we found Carter a hat...and it is a nice one! The neck of his outfit is also all stretched out from slobber and looks pretty classy. :) The game was great and actually went into extra innings. The Rockies won in the 13th. Carter made it through the whole game, therefore making this his 3rd major league baseball game to attend.

Mt Evans

Taking a drive in Colorado is a very common thing. We headed out again on this day, since the weather in Denver was in the mid-90's. Mt. Evans is one of Colorado's 14,000 ft peaks. It has a road you can drive up to the peak at 14,240 feet . It is the highest paved road in North America. We kept an eye on Carter the whole way up to see if he would have any effects from the altitude. He didn't seem to have any and did great. We got out at the top for a few minutes, but it was about 42 degrees and windy so we didnt stay long. We also didn't want to keep Carter at the altitude for an extended period of time. Carter fit right in with all the motorcyclists up there and could of hopped right on one of them in his jean jacket. So, one 14er down for Carter and 53 more to go. Iam sure he and Scott will tackle some more of these in the future.

THREE Months Old

Carter is three months old. I know I say this every month, but I can't believe he is already this big. It is great to watch him grow and learn new things, but it is going by very fast!

Carter, at three months you:

-Have definitely gained some more weight since your two month appointment but we are not sure how much. You are such a good eater.
-You are now taking a bottle during the day, since I went back to work, and it hasn't been a problem at all.
-Are still in size 1 diapers but probably only because we are using up the last of them. When they are all gone,we will move up to size 2 diapers...probably in a week or so.
-You are in 3-6 month clothes.
-Your eyes are still bright blue.
-You love to sleep on your belly for your naps...which might be a problem when you start daycare.
-You are now spending your days with dad and having a great time. You are always very smiley.
-You love to 'talk' and interact.
-You are up about once a night and then up in the morning around 6am. We are trying to get a schedule going but still working on it.
-You are still such a good baby and can sleep and go just about anywhere without any trouble.
-You love to go for walks and ride in your stroller.

We love you very much and can't wait to see what all your stats are at your 4 month appointment.

First Father's Day

Father's Day is a very special day and now it has even more meaning around our house. This was Scott's first Father's Day of many to come. Scott and I both have great dads that would do anything for us and we love them very much. I know that Carter will have this same feeling about his dad. Scott is such a GREAT dad...from day one. It is amazing to see and I love watching he and Carter together. It brings a smile to my face every time.

Scott's, and now Carter's, Quilt

Scott's grandma made him this quilt when he was born. Ann saved the quilt and has it at the cabin. When we were there this weekend, Carter got to use it. It still looks great and will definitely get used when we are up there again.

Minor League

Carter, Scott and I attended our first minor league baseball game. The Rockies AAA farm team is located in Colorado Springs. On the way to the cabin, we headed over to the AAA Sky Sox stadium to watch a game. We knew many of the players that had been sent down from the Rockies. We were about 5 rows off the field, right behind third base. It was a great time and we will definitely try to make it to another game if we can. As you can see, Carter was completely impressed with his first minor league game.

Last Day :(

Today was the last day before I have to go back to work...boooooooooo. I can't believe how fast 12 weeks has gone by. Tomorrow is going to be VERY hard. I wish I could stay home with Carter, but it just isn't how things are going to work. I know it will get easier, but I am definitely not looking forward to this after getting to be home with him for so long. It has been a great 12 weeks! I hope he doesn't forget about me. :) So glad Scott is staying home with him until August though, it definitely helps!!! I am going to miss talking to this little guy during the day and looking at him while he naps with his monkey. :) He is so cute!

First Concert

Highlands Ranch does free community events all the time. One, out of the many things they do, is a free concert series. There was a Doobie Brothers cover band we decided to go see. It was close to the house and it was a great night for it. The three of us went and two of Carter's Great Aunts, Ellen and Janet, met us there to enjoy the evening. We took a picnic dinner, hung out and listened to the music. It was a beautiful night. The temperature even got a little cool before the concert was over. Carter did great and I think he really enjoyed his first concert. He also sported his first pair of jeans. We will definitely try to get to a few more if we can.

Let the Summer Begin

Scott, Carter, Eddie and I decided to take a drive. It was such a gorgeous day and the start to the summer for Scott. We headed out late morning and didn't get back until late afternoon. We headed up to Deckers, down to Woodland Park and then around to Bailey to have lunch. It was a beautiful drive and followed the South Platte River or Tarryall Creek the whole drive. We stopped along the Tarryall creek for a few minutes to let Eddie out of the car and Carter to get out of his carseat. Carter loves being outside and takes everything in around him. I have a feeling Carter will be outside a lot this summer.

The View from Here

Carter looks like this many days now because the slobbering has begun. In an effort to save some wardrobe changing during the day, the bibs have been brought out.

Battle of the Bands

Scott and our friend Matt Hall have an ongoing argument about who the more influential band in Rock and Roll was, the Beatles or the Rolling Stones. In honor of this battle, Matt and Katie got Carter a Beatles onesie. Carter wore this today for a couple hours...before he had a blow out. I think he might be rooting for his dad's side. See how excited he looks in the picture. We are now on the hunt for a Rolling Stones outfit for Bridget, Matt and Katie's daughter, that will keep the battle alive.

Last Day of School

Carter and I headed up to visit Scott on his last day of school. Carter was a trooper and very social with everyone he met. He did great for about an hour and a half and then sleepiness took over and he passed out. Hope that isn't a sign of how high school will be in the future. This was the last day for teachers only, so there weren't any students. Probably good for Carter not to pick up any bad habits and the students not to see what a good baby he is and want one of their own. I meant to take a picture of him in Scott's classroom and totally forgot!

So, instead of a picture from school, we will just add some in his first pair of overalls. He has some other ones when he gets bigger, but this is the first set he has worn and I do have to say...PRETTY CUTE! I am a little biased though.

Aunt Tasha said Carter seems to sit in this chair a lot to have his picture taken, but he loves it there. He can sit up and look around. He has to be able to see what is going on lately.
