We finished the job and although the perfectionist in me notices some things that could have been done better, I think the bathrooms turned out pretty well. Now to find some time to get to enjoy it.

Tiling Take Two
After our first weekend of laying tile at the cabin was a bust, we headed back while Tom and Ann were there to surprise them and get the job done. Carter was excited to help and get everything going on the project. All good skills to acquire at a young age.
As usual at the cabin, there was good food and great company. Carter got to spend lots of time with Grandpa Tom and Grandma Ann while Scott, Sarah and I worked on the bathrooms.

Farm Time with Family
Of course since we were in Kansas City, there is always a trip to the farm. It is hard to miss. Since all of us were still in town after the wedding, on Sunday we headed up to hang out at the farm. Tasha and Trevor even made it up. I know it was hard for them after the wedding being the night before, but we were so glad to get to spend a little more time with everybody.
I love that Carter has been able to spend lots of at the farm since it holds such a special place in my heart. I hope one day he will look back at the pictures and know he got to experience it too.
This time did not disappoint and the farm brought out all kinds of fun and more memories. All the kids, including Carter, had a blast with water guns, water balloons and so much more.
Pretty sure jumping on air mattresses, from the couch, etc, wasn't allowed when I was little.
No hands.

The 4-wheeler is always hit, but not to sure about the gator.
Good conversation.
And of course, fun with water guns.
Love it all!

Wedding Day for Aunt Tasha and Uncle Trevor
Aunt Tasha and Uncle Trevor's wedding day started with all the girls getting their hair done.
While I was doing that, Scott was in charge of making sure Carter got a morning nap and ready for the wedding with all the boys.
Before the wedding, everyone met up to take pictures at a local park. We did pictures with the kids and then Scott headed back to let Carter lay down again before the actual wedding. I stayed to do more pictures with the wedding party. It was a little warm during the pictures and with Carter being a Soltis he was sweating and hot, but we all survived...even if he wasn't the happiest in pictures.
The wedding went great and Carter walked down the aisle with no issues. It was great to have all of our family together.

After a great ceremony at the church, we headed over to the reception. Although most people stayed inside for the reception, Carter played outside for a good portion of the night. There was a torrential downpour before the wedding that left some perfect puddles and gutter water for Carter to play in. All in all, it was a perfect night.

Rehearsal Dinner
Friday night in KC was the rehearsal dinner for Aunt Tasha and Uncle Trevor's wedding. We headed to the church first to find out what we all had to do. Carter took his job and the instructions very seriously. After finding out what he was supposed to do, he got to spend a little time with his cousins (somehow Audrey avoided all pictures). They all loved being together.
After we rehearsed at the church, we headed to Trevor's mom and step dad's house for the rehearsal dinner. It was a great relaxing dinner at their farm. Carter and the other kids were able to play and run around outside. There was lots of equipment at the farm to play on and bugs to catch. It was a wonderful evening with family.

Fun with Grandpa Joe
After arrival in to Kansas City, there was no time to waste. While Grandma Bonnie and I went to help Aunt Tasha prep the reception hall for the wedding...
Scott, Carter and Grandpa Joe were taking care of that badly needed haircut and having fun at the house with constant wagon rides. Grandpa Joe redid the wagon we had as kids and Carter loves to ride around in it. It had been upgraded with sides on it this time, after the face plant that happened on a previous trip. :)

What's Your Vector Victor
Aunt Tasha and Uncle Trevor's wedding had us heading to KC mid-June. We decided to fly. Since Carter turned two in March, this was his first flight he had to have his own seat for...and we had to pay for it. Although it is more expensive for us to fly now, it is actually better for him to have his own seat. He is getting bigger and it would have been hard to convince him to sit on our laps for the entire flight. His own seat gave him a little more space and taught him that he needed to be wearing his seat belt. He was very good about keeping it on during the flight.
Thankfully, KC isn't a long flight and it was taking us to have lots of fun with family. The DVD player and fruit snacks, of course, also helped.
Carter looks like such a little boy all the time now. It is crazy. However, these pictures show how bad Carter was in need of a haircut. We were waiting until right before the wedding, so it would look great while performing his duties. Prior to that though, it was a little rough.

Good Intentions
Scott, Carter and I headed to the cabin with Aunt Sarah to do a little stealth mission. The intention was to tile the two bathrooms while Grandma Ann and Grandpa Tom made a quick trip to Phoenix.
Saturday morning we got up, watched some cartoons and had a little breakfast before getting started on the project.
After inspecting the bathrooms, we realized the toilets didn't have a normal set up and we would need to turn the water for the house off completely. We got a little concerned that if everything didn't go as planned, we could leave the house in bad shape when we left on Sunday. So, we hid all the stuff and decided we would all come back another weekend and just say surprise we are here to tile the bathrooms. Then, we could get Grandpa Tom to help us out with the potential plumbing problems.
Since we didn't have work to do all weekend as expected, the four of us just relaxed and hung out. It was actually pretty nice. Carter had a great time throwing rocks in the stream, going for a walk around the lake and just having a great time being outside.
