Weekend Away
For my birthday back in February, Scott booked a weekend trip for us to Estes Park. We turned it in to a great little family trip. We went up on Friday afternoon and came back on Sunday. It was great not to have anything to worry about and just having to decide what to eat and do.
Saturday morning we took a drive up to Bear Lake. On the way we passed a great view of Longs Peak, the only 14er in Rocky Mountain National Park.
We had planned to hike around the lake but when we got there, parked the car and looked at the temperature gauge in the car, it said 28 degrees. So, we bundled Carter up and walked up to the lake. We showed it to him for a minute and then walked back to the car. Too cold for any hiking that morning. We did stop by the Visitor center on the way out of the park though, where Carter made sure he had his tire gauge in case anyone needed help.
We also took some walks around town, threw sticks in the river and Carter got to see some elk for the first time. He was a little confused by them.
A few more pics to come.
