Have You Seen This Boy?

Here is the picture so you can actually see it (Just as a side note, please don't post this picture elsewhere.  Thanks!  We have one for the grandparents).

Relaxing in Estes

It was a good thing the place we stayed in Estes was nice. Between nap schedules, bedtimes and just taking some time to relax we definitely spent a fair amount of time in the room.

Carter loved that he was able to hang out, watch some baseball, crawl around and play. He also had his first ice cream cone and, since the room had a hot tub, got to experience his own "little pool". With Carter's love of the water, I think a fair amount of time this summer will be spent in it.
Our last day it was a little warmer so we decided to go on a hike before we headed home. Carter loved it and the setting was gorgeous. It was a great weekend.

Weekend Away

For my birthday back in February, Scott booked a weekend trip for us to Estes Park. We turned it in to a great little family trip. We went up on Friday afternoon and came back on Sunday. It was great not to have anything to worry about and just having to decide what to eat and do. Saturday morning we took a drive up to Bear Lake.  On the way we passed a great view of Longs Peak, the only 14er in Rocky Mountain National Park.
We had planned to hike around the lake but when we got there, parked the car and looked at the temperature gauge in the car, it said 28 degrees. So, we bundled Carter up and walked up to the lake. We showed it to him for a minute and then walked back to the car. Too cold for any hiking that morning. We did stop by the Visitor center on the way out of the park though, where Carter made sure he had his tire gauge in case anyone needed help.
We also took some walks around town, threw sticks in the river and Carter got to see some elk for the first time. He was a little confused by them.
A few more pics to come.

THIRTEEN Months

Carter you are 13 months old and you are so busy. We are still working on a new photo shoot option for this year since you move so quick so we will start that next month. Time is flying so we will need to make a decision soon. At 13 months you:

-are still only walking assisted by furniture or toys. You have not struck out on your own yet.
-are not talking but babble alot.
-know lots of words when we say them.
-love to point at things and for us to tell you what it is.
-are very busy and do not like to be strapped in to your high chair, car seat or anything that doesn't allow you to move freely.
-are very loud and yell to get our attention.
-are still a great eater.
-are still wearing a size 4 diaper.
-are pretty much wearing 18mth clothes except for a few things.
-constantly take your shoes and socks off when we put them on you.
-LOVE to be outside. -love to swing.
-LOVE water and like to play with the sprinklers, hose, faucet, etc.
-love to do your "chores" and give Eddie water and feed him.
-are starting to look like such a little boy.
-might need a haircut soon. Your hair is getting long.
-are the love of our lives.

First Rockies Game of the Season

Carter already made it to his first Rockies game of the season. It was a little chilly for baseball and the game was delayed by rain in the fifth inning, but we had a great time. We were sure the game would be called, so we went ahead and left. After we got home, the game restarted and was capped off with a walk off homerun by the Rockies for the win. We ended up missing a great finish to the game, but not sure we would have made it that long anyway. Carter had fun checking everything out before we left. Hopefully our next game won't contain any rain and will be over 50 degrees.

Easter (part 2)

Our second day of Easter celebrations started with Carter getting his Easter basket in the morning. The eggs were a big hit and it was fun to see him open them and get excited about what was inside. After a morning at home, we headed out to meet up with Scott's side of the family. We all met at a restaurant in Golden for brunch and to take some pictures of Carter in a nearby park after. The pictures of Carter turned out well, but we could only do so many because Carter was getting tired. We are going to try and get some again soon. The restaurant where we had brunch also had an Easter Bunny we stopped to see. Carter was not a big fan of it up close. He loves to see characters from afar but not too close. All was not lost though, because Carter got to pick an Easter egg out of a basket, each containing different things, and his contained a free deluxe room back at the hotel in Golden where the brunch was being held. It was a great day filled with good company, good food, beautiful weather and a winning Easter egg.

Easter (part 1)

Easter was filled with two wonderful days of family time this year. Saturday we spent the afternoon with my side of the family and went to Aunt Gayla and Uncle Dan's house in Broomfield. Ashley, Brandon, Isla, Tiffany, Kris, Grady and Lainey were there too. We were able to have a delicious lunch and hang out.

All of the kids are starting to interact a little and have fun together. They are all so cute! There was a kiss between Grady and Carter, although Carter looks a little confused. And, although Grady had a runny nose, Carter's stellar immune system has held strong! We also got pictures of the cutest little girl bunnies too. Hopefully we can all get together often, so they can play together like Tasha, Tiffany, Ashley and I did when we were little. So fun to see them all together. We had a great time and can't wait to do it again.
