The holiday season is upon us and it definitely begins with Halloween in our house. Halloween is one of Scott's favorites and I know that will get passed on to Carter.
This was Carter's first Halloween, so we had to make sure it was memorable. I am sure he will not think that us dressing him up like a hot dog was as cute as we did when he is older, but he seemed to enjoy it on this night. The weather was great. We were able to get out and trick or treat to some of the neighbors houses and then come home to hand out candy and hang out with some family.
I know this is the first of many great Halloween costumes to come.

Czechs and/or Slovaks all around
New Cousin
Carter got to meet his newest cousin, Laine. She wasn't too impressed with him, as evidenced by her sleeping :), but I know they will love to play together soon enough. He is so excited to have so many cousins close by to play with as they all get a little older. He loved that cousin Grady had a cool fire truck and was willing to share it with him.
SEVEN Months Old
Carter you are SEVEN months old. You are getting to be so big.
Carter at seven months you:
-weigh 19lbs, 11oz (with a onesie, socks and a diaper on). The only reason we know that is because you had to get your second flu shot and I had them weigh you.
-are still in a size 3 diaper.
-are wearing mostly 9mth or 6-12mth clothes now but still have some 6-9mths clothes but they are getting small.
-still have bright blue eyes.
-have more hair. The hair on the top of your head is getting long. We may have to start doing a mohawk soon.
-still reach for EVERYTHING.
-still just have two teeth.
-are rolling all over the place. It is amazing how much you can move around by just rolling.
-kick your legs like crazy when you are on your stomach but aren't making any moves to crawl yet.
-are very ticklish.
-have tried many foods now and we are continuing to introduce more. You love your outmeal and cheerios.
-have started to blow raspberries and seem to love to do it when you have food in your mouth.
-have a variety of facial expressions.
-are pretty cute!

Pumpkin Patch
Because Halloween and all things fall are favorites around our house, we made a trip out to a pumpkin patch in Broomfield. We wanted to find a place that had pick your own pumpkins and some animals for Carter to see. Carter wasn't sure what to think about the animals and made some pretty funny faces when he was close to them. We picked our pumpkins, visited with the animals, got a few pictures and headed out. It was a quickly getting busy at this place and luckily we got there early enough to avoid some of that. We had a lot of things to do this day and this was just the first thing on the list. We hope we can make it to a pumpkin patch every year.
Make sure and click the third picture down to make it bigger so you can see the cute face in the board. :)

San Francisco Part 3
The final installment of our trip to San Francisco and the rest of the things we were able to do while there.
We rode the old cable car one way in to downtown San Francisco. It was very loud and Carter slept through the entire ride.
On the way back to Fisherman's Wharf, we rode the old streetcar.
We went to see Wyatt Earp's grave.
We walked out to the middle of the Golden Gate Bridge and back. Carter took it all in and loved holding on to the railing and looking around.
Carter also had a little time in the RV brushing up on his computer skills and looking pretty cute in his red sweater.
Overall, we were tired when we got home, but had a great time and loved getting to spend the time with family and see everything.

San Francisco Part 2
Continuing the San Francisco weekend:
Our trip included a little adventure for Scott and I with Tom, Sarah and Stephen. The five of us went out to the Farallon Islands to cage dive with Great White Sharks. Ann and Carter stayed in the RV and hung out for the day. Unfortunately, the only shark we saw was a fin come out of the water. We weren't able to see any while we were in the cage, but it was a good trip. We both had a good time. Scott definitely loved it and at one point stayed down in the cage for about an hour.
One more post about San Francisco and we will wrap this trip up. We were able to do so many things that it won't all fit in just two posts. They would be a little overloaded.

San Francisco Part 1
The three of us took a long weeked trip to San Francisco. We met Tom, Ann, Sarah and Stephen there. It was definitely a different vacation than we had taken in the past since there is a baby around now, but was fun to show Carter all the sites of San Francisco (even if he won't actually remember it). He did great with his nap schedule being off and took in everything around him. We did a lot while we were there.
We went to Fisherman's Wharf and Carter tried to decide what he would like to eat at the restaurant.
We also went on a night tour of Alcatraz. We were lucky enough to see some "not on the tour" parts through Stephen's law enforcement connection. We explained to Carter that this is the only jail he should EVER see.
More San Francisco to come!
