Easter Sunday

On Easter Sunday, Carter woke up very excited to see what the Easter Bunny had left him and search for more eggs.  We definitely got lots of egg hunting done this year.  His excitement is always great.

After Easter at home, we had a wonderful brunch with the Maresh's.  Love being able to spend time with more family.

Easter with Cousins

We were able to spend Easter Saturday with the Helmick's, Decola's and Carlucci's again this year.  I know I say this on every post with Carter and his cousins, but I love that they can all grow up together and play.  Looking forward to watching their friendships continue to grow.

Aunt Gayla and Uncle Dan made a wonderful dinner and did an Easter Egg Hunt for the kids.  Each one had a different color eggs again, and they had to find the ones assigned to them.  And, they were actually hidden. :)  They had a great time searching for them and then all sitting down together and checking out what was in their eggs.  We were also able to get a picture of the kids.

Easter Egg Hunt

We tried a different Westminster Easter Egg Hunt this year.  Carter was very excited about going and "hunting" for eggs.  When we go there, we realized it was another scramble approach.  It wasn't really a hunt and there were no hidden eggs.  Carter didn't care.

He was ready for when they said go and quickly ran out to collect some candy in his basket.  He liked to either show us what he picked, or inspect it before putting it in his basket.  It definitely hampered how much he was able to collect, but that was totally fine with us.  It was a gorgeous day and he had a great time.

Pinterest fail

I will gladly admit that I love to find projects, meals, etc on pinterest.  I decided we should try a different method for dying the Easter eggs this year.  The method we choose was to put food color in shaving cream to give kind of a tie-dyed effect.  We got everything ready, rolled our hard boiled eggs in the mix and quickly came out with all dark green and/or brown eggs.  All the colors mixed and were not expertly colored.  When you wiped off the shaving cream, there was no color left on the egg.  And, it was MESSY.  Carter didn't care, but I am guessing we will just stick with normal egg dyeing next year...or find a new pinterest project. :)

Safety First

Since Carter received a new bike for his birthday, a helmet was next on the list.  Scott took Carter by the store after school one day and this is what Carter picked.  He loves it!  It works for 4-wheeling too.

Pitching Machine

Carter received a pitching machine and baseball glove from Pa Tom, Grandma Ann, Aunt Sarah, Uncle Steve and Aunt Lana for his birthday.  He couldn't wait to try it out at the park.  The pitching machine has three settings.  You can either use it as a tee, pop it up to hit it out of the air or have it pop up a little further out.  Carter, of course, wanted it to pop up so he could just hit it out of the air. He caught on quickly and couldn't get enough of it.  I hope he continues to love to play for a long time.

FOUR Years Old

How are we already a four years old?  You are so funny and always have a story to tell or something to discuss.  You definitely keep your dad and I on our toes.

Carter at FOUR years old you:

-weigh 38lbs, 8oz
-are 3 feet, 4 inches tall
-have constant bruises all over your legs
-are constantly talking.  Guess that speech therapy really paid off.
-still take an afternoon nap.  We are so glad you like to sleep.
-sleep all night and usually get up around 7ish on your own, but have to be up earlier for school.
-are wearing 4T clothes.
-wear size 10 shoes.
-still love to sit and read your books with dad and I.
-do so many things on your own.
-still have your lion and blanket, and usually rotate sleeping with some kind of stuffed animal as well.
-are so funny when you tell stories lately.  You have lots of hand gestures.
-constantly tell your dad and I you love us and want to hear it in return as well.  I hope you always keep your soft side.
-are all boy...you are constantly dirty, rough housing, loud and can't get enough playing time with your cars.
-have funny facial expressions that go along with the ever expanding personality.

...And so ends the fourth year of your life.  If you could stop growing so fast, that would be okay.
