Rehearsal Dinner

We all headed to Chico, California for Uncle Steve and Aunt Lana's wedding.  The rehearsal dinner was on Halloween, which meant everyone could dress up for dinner.  Carter thought it was great that he was allowed to wear his Superman costume to dinner.

It was a great dinner.  We were able to spend time with lots of family.  For some reason I don't have pictures of everyone though.  It could have been that we were busy keeping track of Superman, but that is just a guess.

A Scare Is Born

This kid LOVES Halloween.  He was so excited about the mask Scott picked out at the Halloween store.

I am not really sure who he gets it from...

All Fall Down

Being outside is one of Carter's favorite things.  Raking leaves in the fall is a perfect time to take advantage of that love.  It is a sign that winter is coming soon and the outside time will be limited.  In order to soak up all the outside time we could, Carter headed out to help rake the leaves.  And, of course, after you rake them all you have to jump in them.  This is always a fun time every year.  The only problem this year was that we had to get them all out of his long hair after he was finished.  He was still on haircut hiatus in prep for the wedding.

Up, Up and Away

The gym had a Halloween costume party we took Carter to this year.  We figured since we would be in California for Halloween, we would try to get in as much costume time as possible.  Since we had to return the first choice, Scott and Carter went in search of something else.  Superman was Carter's choice and he loved it.  It had a cape, so he could fly of course, and since he is totally in to all the superheros right now, it was perfect.  He was definitely not the only boy in town with that idea. There were quite a few superheros at the party.

He was even able to try out his flying ability on the zipline.  Definitely his favorite thing there.

Ribbon Ceremony

This kid pretty much has no fear in trying anything put in front him.  This is definitely true at the gym.

Because Carter and his classmates completed all the necessary tasks, they had a ceremony and received a ribbon.  He and the other boys in his class definitely kept the teachers on their toes.

Pumpkin Carving

After picking out the perfect pumpkin, you have to head straight home and carve it, especially since you won't be home for Halloween.  We had a limited time to enjoy it, so we wanted to make sure and get it done as soon as possible.

Fall Family Fun

We headed back to Rock Creek Farm to get our pumpkins again this year.  Carter had a great time again and found the perfect pumpkin.  Aunt Sarah also joined in the fun this year.  Carter is thrilled that she is living with us for a little while while she looks for a new place.

The pumpkin patch is a crazy reminder of how much changes in a year an how much he is growing. Disregard the serious need of a haircut in this year's pictures.  What happened to our baby?

Pickle Me

We told Carter he could pick his Halloween costume out this year.  He decided he wanted to be a Minion from Despicable Me or as Carter calls is Pickle Me.  We went to the Halloween store and found just the right costume for him.  We came home, had him try it on to make sure it would work an it had a scratchy tag in the back.  That was the end of that costume.  It had to be returned and a new costume picked. :)

Soaking up the Sun

One last weekend at the cabin before Pa Tom and Grandma Ann headed out in the RV for the winter. It was a gorgeous weekend which allowed for hikes around the cabin and a longer one up one of our favorite trails.  It is a gorgeous overlook of San Isabel Lake and Lodge.
