Obstacle Course

When you work on cleaning out the garage with a 3 year old, everything you move is potentially a toy.  An obstacle course for the 4-wheeler had to be set up.  The garage eventually got cleaned up.

The Summer Cut

The summer haircut for a kid that has Soltis genes in him.  I had Scott cut it when he got home from Indy, thinking it wouldn't be a big deal.  I was wrong.  Carter had a mild breakdown about the clippers, even though he has had his hair cut at a barber shop a lot.  He was not a fan.  Once you start that cut, however, you kind of have to finish.  You would never know, from these pictures, that he had issue with it.

Future Michelangelo?

Carter hasn't ever played with Playdoh, but Uncle George got him some for his birthday.  Carter and I decided to get it out for some entertainment, while Scott was in Indianapolis for the race this year.  My pie crust rolling mat from Grandma Soltis worked great!  Carter made all kinds of things, and I learned to let my OCD, with keeping Playdoh colors separate, go...a little.

Ohm

Carter loves to do his yoga lately.  Any kind of exercise is perfect.  He has pretty good balance and loves to do the stork pose.

Jack's Birthday

We headed to Jack's birthday party, at Dessa's house, one Saturday.  It was a dinosaur themed party, complete with a dinosaur dig.  The kids loved it.

Jack received a guitar for his birthday and Carter had to try it out with Lexi (Dessa's daughter).

Denver Museum of Nature and Science

A day at the Museum of Nature and Science.  Carter couldn't get enough of the dinosaurs, mummies and other animal displays.  He asked a TON of questions.

The museum also had different movies related to the exhibits.  We decided to try and take Carter to his first movie.  It was a 3D movie about the ocean.  He loved it and did great.  It helped that it was only about a 30 minute movie.  A regular movie would definitely still have to be something that would keep his interest the whole time.

El Dorado Canyon State Park

One Saturday we decided to take Carter up to El Dorado Canyon State Park and do a little hiking.  We were watching Stella for the weekend, so we took both dogs also.   Both Carter and Eddie couldn't get enough of the water, Eddie was constantly in it and Carter would have thrown rocks all day.  Stella wasn't so sure.

After throwing rocks for a while and walking around the park, we went to a different area.  El Dorado Canyon is known for it's rock climbing spots.  Lots of people come there to do serious climbing.  We showed Carter and he decided he could do it too, and he didn't need lines.  He had no fear and would just head up a rock.  He definitely doesn't have a fear of heights.

It was a great day and allowed me to get this great picture of Scott and Carter.  One of my favorites.

Guard Dog

Eddie is normally close by when Carter is doing anything.  Bath time is no different.  I couldn't tell if Eddie was watching to make sure nothing happened to Carter, or if he was thinking why can I be in there.  :)

When I Grow Up...

I'm going to be a baseball player.  It is what Carter will tell you whenever you ask him.  He loves to practice, and is quite the hitter.  We will see what his future holds.

Team Pictures

Team and individual pictures were taken at practice one week.  Check out the kid on the far right making faces.

This kid steals our hearts, even on days when he has breakdowns at soccer practice.  You would never know of the breakdowns from the pictures though.
