Like Father, Like Son
We stopped by Scott's work one day, and before leaving made a pit stop in one of Scott's fellow teacher's room. She has a little corn snake that is pretty tame and Carter couldn't wait to hold it. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. I have a feeling many reptiles will pass through our house as Carter grows. The snake we have now, Elvis, is already checked out frequently and Carter loves to feed him. It doesn't phase him in the least. Check out the beaming smile on Carter's face and the pride behind him. :)

Road Trip
Grandpa Tom was in Garden City to work for a few days in February. Scott decided it would be a good time for he and Carter to go visit. I wasn't able to take work off to head down early, so it was a mom-less trip. However, Aunt Sarah went, so there was someone else to help entertain in the car. All of them did some eating at their favorite spots and checked out their former stomping grounds.
It was a nostalgia trip for Scott and, therefore, Carter. Scott took him to his old grade school.

To see the Clutter house where the events took place that the inspired the book/movie In Cold Blood.
To see Scott's childhood home.
And St. Mary's for Grandma Ann.

A Trip to the Zoo
For our President's Day holiday we took Carter to the Denver Zoo. Aunt Mary and Aunt Susan met us there for some fun. It was a great day.

An Afternoon at the Park
This kid loves to be outside. And since it is Colorado, one day you can and the next you can't. So, we take advantage of it whenever possible.

Be Mine
Nothing says Valentine's Day like the cutest baby goats ever...and in sweaters no less.
We decided since the three of us were going out for Valentine's Day, we should find something fun for Carter. Scott and I aren't huge Valentine's people. We usually just do dinner. Neither of us had been to White Fence Farms, so we decided to try it out. It is a family style country dinner place. It is a "farm" in the middle of the city. It really just has some goats and sheep, ducks, a country store and kid play area. Carter really liked it, especially feeding the ducks. It is definitely a one time thing, unless there is a special occasion.
Valentine's Day was great, because I had these two as my dates. Carter and Scott...not the goat.

My Funny Valentine
Valetines for friends at Dessa's house this year. We had fun making them together and Carter had fun passing them out.

Let's Celebrate
It was party time for Grady again this year and Carter couldn't wait to go. Grady had his party at Home Deport again and it was perfect. All the kids got to make a wooden Nascars, kind of like pinewood derby cars. There were also donuts, balloons, juice boxes and lots of fun to be had. Carter was in heaven and had a great time, as always, hanging out with his cousins. Can't believe Grady turned 4.

Super Bowl Sunday
The Super Bowl was not very fun to watch this year. It started out with high hopes, but just didn't turn out the way Denver fans wanted.
The three of us headed to Fred and Bonnie's for a small get together to watch the game. This is from before the game started. Everyone was happy...we didn't get any after shots.
What we did get pictures of at the party, however, was how big this kid looks with his backpack. Carter brought his toys and books in it to the party. He is very attached to it lately. It made me just a little bit sad at just how fast Carter is growing up. Not the best pictures, but shows how he wanted to wear his backpack even after we got there.

Safety First
In order to protect his head, Carter decided a football helmet was Superman's best choice when flying around. And, although large front to back, the helmet was a little tight around the cushioning. I think Carter is probably going to take after his dad and uncle Steve. Bring on the large hats. :)

More Snow!
More snow meant Carter was back on the job. We have to take full advantage of his willingness to work before he demands to be paid for it.
We are going to have to talk with him about the breaks he takes though. The snow isn't going to shovel itself.
