Don't Rock the Boat

On Memorial Day this year, the three of us, plus Eddie, headed up to Evergreen Lake.  Scott found a great deal on Groupon, so we headed up to relax a little and spend some time together.  It was a gorgeous day and Carter had a great time.

Our first stop was some canoeing on the lake.  Carter steered with the rope, did some paddling and checked out everything going on around the canoe.  After canoeing, we took Eddie for a hike where Carter tried to pick up every rock on the trail.  Finally, we headed to Bear Creek Tavern for some lunch and of course had to throw some rocks and sticks in the creek before leaving.  It was a great day.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Hard Workin' Boy

If Scott and I are doing anything that could possibly require help, Carter is there to fill that roll. He loves to do whatever we are doing and it doesn't really matter what it is. If he is interested, he is in the mix. On this particular day, I was working outside in the yard to pull out some bushes. Carter had to get his yard tools and gloves to help me out. All jobs now take just a little bit longer to complete, but how can you say no to this kid.

 

Back to the Dentist

Carter headed back to the dentist for his follow-up visit and an official check-up. He did great letting the dentist check his teeth and clean them, but he wasn't a big fan of the xray process so, maybe next time. The dentist said his tooth was coming back down well though and everything looked good so far. Carter walked away with a small beach ball from the dentist again. He was thrilled for the short period before Eddie got it and popped it...again. Count so far: Two trips to the dentist and two toy beach balls in the trash. Good thing Carter takes it so well.

Walks in the Park

There are lots of great little parks by our new house. We even have one about three houses up from us. It has a nice soccer and baseball field that Carter loves to run around at and a play area with slides, etc. We love having it so close, since we downsized our backyard when we moved. Of course, Lion, blanket and bink have to go to the park also.

Unwrap a Smile

This is what happens when your dad gives you a piece of hard candy that:
     1.  Is too big for your mouth;
     2.  You aren't quite sure how to just suck on;
     3.  Frequently falls out of your mouth; and
     4.  You just want to crunch with your teeth, but it isn't quite working.
But, you loved every minute of it.

Mother's Day 2013

Mother's Day was pretty low key this year.  We grabbed some lunch with Grandpa Tom, Grandma Ann and Aunt Sarah at Highland Tavern.  It was good food and Carter had a great time playing some foosball and feeding a rabbit that lived at one of the houses near the restaurant.  After lunch we went home and just took it easy.

Carter and Eddie definitely have a love hate relationship.  Eddie is always checking out what Carter is doing, and loves to be around him.  He is SO good with Carter and takes a lot from him with no reaction.  Some days Carter is all about Eddie and other days, not so much.  On this day though, they were best friends just hanging out watching a show.
