Since Carter loves the water table at the park so much, Scott decided to get this one he found on Craigslist for him to have at home. It isn't quite as fancy as the park one, but it only cost $10 and Carter loves to play with it.

SIXTEEN Months Old
Carter, you are 16 months old. You (and we) seem to be very busy lately, which is why I am always behind updating the blog.
At 16 months you:
-still wear size 4 diapers but can do 5 also.
-are in 18mth clothes.
-have some size 3 shoes still, but we need to move up a size.
-want to be outside all fo the time.
-are still not talking much, but know everything we are saying.
-love water tables, especially the one at the park by the house. You have no problem getting right in there with bigger kids.
-can go up and down stairs with ease.
-love your books.
-have a great time at daycare. You and Fiona are quite the pair.
-are very inquisitive and always figuring out how things work (lids, buttons, twist tops, etc.)
-keep us on our toes.

Creede Round-up
Carter was very busy while he was in Creede. There was...
Trips to town.
Hanging out with family.
Work on the ranch to feed the baby sheep.
He was very serious about it.
Rock throwing. One of his favorite things to do.
And, some mucking cart driving.

Inside me, I've got...
Inside me, I've got:
world peace
2 rainbows
light from 4 stars
green stuff
milk
some dog hair
a raisin
and....
quite the little personality.
Fishing in Creede
As is tradition, Scott's mom's side of the family all headed to Creede again this year. Carter being mobile this year made a big difference. He constantly wanted to be outside playing ball, visiting the sheep or something.
On one of the first days there, we headed out to do a little fishing on the boat. Carter did great for some of the time being during nap time. He wasn't a big fan of his life jacket, but since I wasn't fishing (just Carter wrangling), I could hang on to him a make sure he was safe.
He lasted for a couple hours and then he and I got off and Scott and Grandpa Tom stayed to fish a little longer. About five seconds after Carter was in his carseat and we pulled away to head back to the cabin, he was asleep. Fishing wore him out! He had a great time before that though helping fish, playing in the water and of course, as tiredness set in, enjoying a sucker.

Scottsbluff
Scott and Carter headed up to Scottsbluff, NE for a quick trip to see Great Aunt Sara. She was in town for her reunion. We haven't been able to make it to Phoenix yet this summer, so it was the perfect opportunity for Carter to see her. Scottsbluff is about 4 hours or so driving from Denver.
I had to be at work, so Scott and Carter drove up and stayed the night. They were able to spend a couple days hanging out with Sara before driving back home.
They went by Great Grandpa Ivan and Great Grandma Faye's old house.
It was a quick trip, but Scott and Carter had a great time getting to visit with Great Aunt Sara and hanging out in Scottsbluff.

They also hit up the sites of Scottsbluff, NE. They went to The Bluff, Oregon Trail Days and had a burger at Scotty's.
Last on the list of stops was the library. There is a statue in the library donated in memory of Great Grandma Faye and Carter was totally perplexed by the kids sitting on the bench. Pretty sure he was trying to get them to interact with him and couldn't figure out why they weren't, since he is such a fun kid and all. : )

Fourth of July Weekend
The 4th of July landed in the middle of the week this year, so we didn't head to the cabin until the weekend after. Carter's Great Uncle David and Great Aunt Lorel came to the cabin again this year to visit. We were able to spend some great time with them and enjoy a relaxing weekend.
Carter was also very excited with his bubble machine from Grandma Ann and Grandpa Tom.
