Cove Creek Olympics

The Cove Creek 4th of July Olympics landed this year while Tasha and Trevor were visiting.  Since they were here, they participated, matching outfits (as required) and all.  Due to a tragic balloon drop by "someone", Tasha and Trevor just missed winning the whole competition.  Scott and I came in third.

Although both of us came up short in the competition, we all had a great time.  Carter enjoyed some watermelon, hanging out with Aunt Tasha and Trevor and playing a little bit before bed time.

Fireworks at the Rockies Game

After driving back from Breckenridge in the morning, we continued our busy weekend and headed to the Rockies game.  It was the 4th of July (early) fireworks game.  We weren't sure how Carter would do since it would be past his bedtime and he had never seen fireworks before.

The ballpark allows people sitting in a certain section of the outfield (underneath where the fireworks are shot) down on to the field. We made sure to get those tickets. Carter made it through the game and although tired, he did great on the field and watching the fireworks. He only got scared once but, recovered quickly and watched the entire show closely. It was a great night.

Breckenridge

Aunt Tasha and soon to be Uncle Trevor came out for a few days to visit.  On our first day we headed up to Breckenridge to stay for the night and then do some hiking the next morning.  The place we stayed was great.  We may try and go there again.

Carter and I walked around Breckenridge a little.  We had breakfast by the river, fed a ground squirrel some leftovers and hung out in the townhouse.

Scott, Tasha and Trevor were up early to hike Quandry Peak, one of the 14ers in the state. The three of them did great and got to see some cute goats baby and great views along the way.

Exhausted

I couldn't resist snapping these pictures the other day when I went in to get Carter up from nap time.  He loves to have his lion, blankets, sleepsack (when he isn't in it) and football snuggled up around him like pillows when he sleeps.

Father's Day 2012

Father's Day landed while we were in KC for Great Grandma's birthday celebration.  We spent the day at the farm and Carter and Scott spent some good time together.  They went to see some goats at a friend's nearby farm.  Carter liked the goats and the dogs at the farm made sure to stay between he and the goats for protection.

It was also a day spent with Grandpa and Uncles so it was a great day.

Carter's cousins helped out during the day too.

Great Grandma Helen's 90th Birthday...Almost

Great Grandma Helen is getting ready to turn 90 years old in September.  She is doing GREAT and we all wanted to celebrate.  Because of school schedules, activity schedules and a new baby on the way for the Carlucci's in August, we decided to celebrate early.  We had a great time all being together with grandma, and the weather actually cooperated.  The 100+ degree temperatures didn't come until after we left.

There was lots of outside pool and ball time.

And more 4-wheeler time.

Wagon riding.

S'More eating.

And, family time.

Daddy Time

I had to go to Columbia, South Carolina for training and Scott and Carter headed to the cabin for the week. They had a great time hanging out with Grandma and Grandpa.
They did some hiking around the lake.

They hung out at the cabin.

They visited the castle.

And, Carter showed his Miagi skills with the bugs.
