Memorial Day 2012 cont.

A few more pics from Memorial Day weekend 2012.

These are from the farm (Trevor took these pics).

We also headed to the cemetary in Kansas City and DeKalb to put flowers on Carter's Great Grandparents graves.  Sure wish he could have met all of his great grandparents, on both sides, that are no longer with us, but so happy he can spend as much time as possible with Great Grandma Helen.

And, this is what happens to Carter's hair with midwest heat and humidity.  Unfortunately for Carter, he got the Soltis sweat genes.

Memorial Day 2012

While Scott headed to Indy this year, Carter and I went to Kansas City for the weekend again.  Carter will be a little too young for Indy for a while.

It was a short trip, but great to hang out with and see Grandpa Joe, Aunt Tasha, Trevor and Great Grandma Helen.  Grandma Bonnie wasn't able to be there this time, but we will see her soon.

FOURTEEN Months

Carter, you are 14 months old and are very funny.  Your dad and I love to just laugh and smile about all the things you do.

At 14 months you:
-will still only take a couple steps without holding on to anything.  You are getting braver every day though.
-say mama, ball and dad but all are sporadic.  You understand a whole ton of words though.
-are pretty entertaining.
-know lots of tricks, including, dancing, hiding and squeeze.
-are slimming down because you are VERY busy.
-still take two good two hours naps during the day and go to bed at about 7pm for the night.  You are a great sleeper.
-like pretty much all foods but definitely have some favorites still, yogurt, hummus, fruit snacks, etc.
-love water and taking your bath.
-are not easy to get a picture of lately.
-get very upset if your dad or I walk out of a room and you are left alone.
-are getting more into your books.
-love any kind of ball.
-have quite the throwing arm.
-are very social and try to get people's attention around you.
-are getting very "opinionated".
-have the cutest dimple in your chin when you smile, especially your goofy smile.
-are still the love of our lives.

Take Me Out to the Ballgame

More baseball and a pretty cute spectator.  We started out in the upper deck and then moved down for the end of the game.  Carter also texted about the game.

Pole Dancer

Carter has quite the list of tricks lately, but one of his favorites is to dance.  On this day, he decided to dance holding on to the stair railing.  It was pretty entertaining and a little concerning for later in life.

Mother's Day 2012

Mother's Day this year was pretty low key.  Carter is very busy lately and somewhat loud, so going to a nice buffet would have been tough.  We decided to let Carter get his normal naps in and head to a park for a picnic instead.  It was a great plan until it rained most of the morning and ended up being pretty chilly.  With everything being pretty wet, a picnic really wasn't possible.  We ended up just grabbing some lunch and then going to a nearby park for a little bit.  Carter didn't mind.  He got a cookie and loved going on the slide.  We will just have to do a picnic later this summer...at a park with a slide.

Meet and Greet

Carter is already hob-knobbing with professional athletes in town (not the right ones but...). One of the Broncos players, Robert Ayers, was at the Sports Authority store by the house. The three of us headed over (although I was just the picture taker) to say hi and get a picture of Carter with Ayers. He was very nice and chatted with Carter for a few seconds. Carter wasn't sure what to think of Ayers, but he was polite and gave him a high five (that I missed with the camera) and made him laugh.

Water Baby

Although not really a baby anymore, Carter's love of the water has been around for a while and documented a few times on here.  This is just one more instance that proves he may just spend the entire summer in the sprinkler system, pool, etc.
