For the Love of Bent's Fort

Scott is definitely a history buff and one of his all time favorite places is Bent's Fort. It was just natural for him to want to take Carter there. It has been a long time since we have been. We don't have to drive that way anymore since Tom and Ann are no longer in Garden City. Since we were there for Easter, we decided to hit a couple historic sites on the way. We stopped at The Sand Creek Massacre site on the way down (although we didnt get any pics of that) and Bent's Fort on the way home. This is Carter's first trip to Bent's Fort...and I am sure it won't be his last.

Lots of firsts...Easter, road trip, hotel etc.

Tom and Ann were in Garden City, KS over Easter weekend this year because Tom had to work. We drove down for the weekend and spent Easter with Tom, Ann and Sarah. It was Carter's first road trip and he did great. Garden City is about 5 hours from Denver and everything went pretty well down and back.
This was also Carter's first visit to the motorhome and first stay in a hotel. This picture is of Carter asleep in his King-sized bed. It was a weekend full of firsts.

One Month Old

The first month has flown by! I can't believe Carter is one month old. It has been so nice to be off work with him and see how he has changed in just a month. His personality is really starting to come out and we can't wait to see more of it as time progresses.

First Bath

Carter's first bath. He didn't think it was too bad but didn't really like to be cold. We have remedied this situation lately. We now have a mini-heater in the bathroom (thanks to Great Grandma Helen) that we turn on before his bath and we fill up the tub to cover him. He likes to sit in the water and chill out.

First Pair of Shoes

Carter wearing his first pair of shoes.
Aunt Tasha sent these and we love them. Carter has worn them many times. He already has quite a few pairs of other shoes for when he gets bigger too. He will definitely be a well dressed kid!

Grandma and Grandpa Soltis Meet Carter

My mom and dad arrived April 6th to meet Carter. They were able to stay with us and help out for a week. We were excited they were able to come and stay that long because it is not easy for them to get away from work. Dad was also able to help us with some stuff around the house, which was great.
This is mom and dad's fifth grandchild and they couldn't be more excited to have another one.
