All of the grandparents were very excited to get to meet Carter. Ann got to the house the evening we got home from the hospital. Tom came a few days later after driving up from Florida. Ann stayed and helped us for two weeks after we got home. Carter is the first grandchild on Scott's side of the family so everyone was very excited to meet him. For some reason we have a picture of when Ann met Carter for the first time but not one of Tom. I know there is one floating around somewhere. We know there will also be lots of pictures with him in the future.

Going Home
We went home from the hospital Saturday, March 26th after being there for four days. We had lots of visitors while we were at the hospital. Everyone wanted to meet the newest Troy. Things were going okay when we left. We were still working on getting Carter to eat better, but it was so nice to be going home. Carter was so small in his carseat when we left. His first car ride lasted all of 10 minutes.

The First Day
I want to do a few posts to make sure we have things down and don't forget.
Carter was born on March 22, 2011 at 7:01am. The day before, I came home from work and felt a little different but didn't think too much about it. My comments about it must of sparked something in Scott though, because he packed his hospital bag and put it in the car that night. Prior to this day, he had not packed a bag so Carter would not come before then. :) We were hoping Carter would come as close to Scott's spring break as possible. Nothing happened before we went to bed. Due to Carter being breech, we were scheduled for a c-section on March 24th and when nothing happened before going to bed on the 21st, I figured it wouldn't happen until then.
Later that night, I was lying awake in bed because Carter had been moving around inside me for a little while. About an hour later at 4am, my water broke. I quickly flew out of bed when it happened because I didn't want to get anything on the bed. I made it to the bathroom but about scared Scott to death in the process.
I decided I wanted to shower before we went to the hospital and there were a couple things to take care of before we left. I took a quick shower while Scott set up his sub for the day and took care of the dog etc.. After we got everything together, we headed to the hospital. The hospital was only about 10 minutes from the house so we were there by a little before 5am. We checked in and were in the hospital room by 5:30am. Thankfully, Dr. Graham was on call that night and was still at the hospital. They let him know we were there and he decided he wanted to get everything done before his office hours started at 7:30am. Everything moved pretty quick after that and Carter was born at 7:01am. The c-section went very fast and Dr. Graham did a great job. Scott got to be in the room and watch it all take place. Carter was born March 22, 2011 at 7:01am weighing 7 pounds, 8 ounces and was 19 inches long.
